ENTRY-LEVEL FACADE ARCHITECT / EIT – SAN FRANCISCO Apply

Heintges San Francisco has opportunities for an early career architect or EIT, who is excited to develop specialized expertise in building enclosure.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Professional or graduate degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering
  • 1-2 years of work experience in a professional practice
  • Naturally gravitates towards technical aspects of design
  • Self-starter who can demonstrate initiative, persistence, and independence
  • Perceptive, with the capacity to make good judgments and prioritize the best interests of a project.
  • Efficient with time management and able to balance work on multiple projects
  • Thrives with in-person collaboration
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Confident communicating through hand sketches and computer drafting
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D visualization software
  • Detail oriented and flexible
  • Accuracy in drafting and picking up red-lines and comments on details
  • Excited by the process of seeing buildings built
  • Interested in working in the field, observing installation on construction sites
  • Confidence with driving independently to test labs and jobsites, which can be 3+ hrs.
  • Interest in pursuit of Architectural or PE licensure
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE DEVELOPED OVER TIME TO INCLUDE:

  • Interpreting and executing architectural design intent
  • Effectively summarizing technical concepts for design team coordination
  • Designing, engineering, and detailing of exterior wall systems
  • Energy performance modeling and analyzing results
  • In-depth research of materials, processes, and systems
  • Writing specifications
  • Participating in external client and design team meetings
  • Reviewing contractor proposals, shop drawings, and other submittals
  • Witnessing performance mock-up testing
  • Inspecting quality of prefabricated materials at factories
  • Inspecting progress on site
  • Writing reports

Starting salary range: $60,000 – 68,000

NY – ENCLOSURE ARCHITECT / EIT – KOREAN SPEAKER    Apply

Are your Korean language skills strong?  Do you have 2+ years of experience in an architecture or engineering firm? Do you enjoy in-person collaboration?

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with senior staff in the development, detailing, and analysis of a variety of facade and waterproofing systems.
  • Interface directly with the client, external design team, consultants, and construction teams during all project phases.
  • Analyze envelope performance through modeling.
  • Write Specifications.
  • Review contractor proposal and shop drawings.
  • Witness laboratory performance testing.
  • Perform and report on project site observations and field testing.
  • Expand firm’s shared knowledge through internal Research & Development.
  • Develop office technical resources, such as commonly used details and performance memos.
  • Regular domestic and/or international travel for factory inspections and testing.
  • Training will be provided as needed to supplement previous expertise to achieve full expertise, concept through construction, and advancement.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience in a professional architecture or engineering firm.
  • Proficiency in Korean language.
  • Knowledge of facade design over a range of system types.
  • Excellent communication, drawing, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Design and detail oriented, patient, and flexible.
  • Confident communicating through both hand sketches and digital modeling.
  • Interest in working in the field, observing project installation on construction sites.
  • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D visualization software.
  • Professional degree in Architecture or Engineering.
  • Authorization to work in U.S. is required.

Starting salary range: $68,000 – 80,000
